SalesVault x Google

Why we built SalesVault on and for Google
Workspace instead of building our own

We chose to build for the ecosystem where fast moving sales and revenue teams already
work — and to adopt its world-class security, compliance, and identity infrastructure in the
process. Here's why we chose to do so.

When we were building SalesVault, the most obvious path was the one every legacy sales enablement vendor had taken: build a standalone platform, add a mobile app, build an integration library, and spend the next few years convincing and selling to sales and revenue teams. The platforms that took this path are well-funded and well-known. Most of their customers' sellers don't use them regularly.

We are making a different bet: that the core problem for sales enablement software is not missing features — it's seller adoption (across sales, customer success and account management teams). And this adoption problem is not solvable by adding more products or more integrations or features and tools to the standalone platform. It's only solvable by building for the environment where the seller work already happens, so they only have to do the minimal amount of work and extract the maximum value from the platform.

For digital-native SMB teams, Google Workspace is that environment. Google Slides for presentations. Google Docs for proposals and briefing documents. Google Forms for surveys, quizzes and intake. Google Chat for team coordination and updates. SalesVault is built for those users — not as a layer bolted on top of another platform, but exclusively purpose-built for Google Workspace from day one.

The seller adoption paradox
Sales enablement tools face a paradox that most other SaaS categories do not: the people who should ideally use them the most — sellers and account managers at 50-80% of quota — are the least likely to adopt new tools, because their immediate priority is closing deals and opportunities, not learning new software. High performers already have their own individual workflows that produce results. Average performers are under pressure to perform. Neither group has the capacity to integrate a new tool. This is why adoption rates for legacy sales enablement platforms are at 20-40% even in enterprise organizations that invested in dedicated change management, enablement teams and significant Sales Ops / RevOps capabilities. SalesVault solves this with a zero-learning curve model and a self-serve platform where decision-makers flexibly choose whom to add at any time, thus saving time and effort chasing 100% internal coordination.

Google Workspace is an underestimated B2B platform

The Google Workspace narrative in technology discussions is often framed as 'the alternative to Microsoft.' This undersells it significantly. Google Workspace is the dominant productivity platform for multiple segments of the B2B market: technology companies, startups, growth-stage companies, and digital-native SMBs — exactly the companies that need and are buying sales enablement software. The overlap is not incidental — it is the market.

We built SalesVault exclusively for Google Workspace users because adoption is the product. A sales enablement tool that isn't used is not a sales enablement tool — it's a content dump with an invoice attached. The only way to solve enablement adoption and sales execution is to stop asking sellers to come to the tool and start building the tool around where they already work — i.e., Google Workspace.

SalesVault x Google Workspace Add-ons

This is where the 'Built for Google Workspace users' principle becomes even more tangible. SalesVault's Google Workspace Add-ons are not browser extensions or sidebar iframes — they are native Google Workspace Add-ons, distributed only to SalesVault users through the Google Workspace Marketplace and running directly inside Google Slides, Docs, Forms, and Chat. Sellers access them instantly within the tools they already use daily, without switching context, opening a new tab, or logging into a separate platform.

1

SalesVault for Google Slides

Build a full, AI-powered business presentation for any content topic accurately and with or without any reference content in under 3 minutes from inside Google Slides. The Add-on surfaces 15+ themes, 200+ content types, and AI-powered chart generation — all accessible from any new or existing Slides presentation without switching tabs. Multi-slide multi-deck mixing, slide-level AI generation, and instant theme application replace the manual deck-building cycle that costs sellers hours before every high-stakes meeting.

2

SalesVault for Google Docs

Generate over 40 document types — SOWs, briefing documents, battle cards, proposal responses, competitive summaries, onboarding guides etc. — in under 10 seconds from inside Google Docs. The Add-on produces a structured, precise draft that a seller can review and finalize for that specific deal. The blank-page problem for sellers is eliminated entirely, and the editable output is already in the document format the seller expects.

3

SalesVault for Google Forms

Access 12+ pre-built AI Form Builder templates from inside Google Forms: customer surveys, deal analysis, team surveys, enablement forms, event-based forms, testimonial requests etc. along with a custom Quiz Builder for all assessments and training needs. AI Google Forms are ready in under 30 seconds, which any seller or account manager or marketing team member can build and deploy without starting from scratch or leaving the Google Forms interface.

4

SalesVault for Google Chat

Receive real-time notifications from your SalesVault account directly inside Google Chat: buyer engagements with Content Links, Sales Proposals, Sales Plays or Value Calculators. Track when views, opens, shares, and downloads occur to plan your next course of action — delivered to Google Chat. No tab-switching, no login to a separate dashboard to check deal engagement. The buyer signal arrives where you give your full attention, Chat and Gmail.

Why 'built for Google Workspace' matters more than 'integrated with Google Workspace'
There is a meaningful difference between a platform that integrates with Google Workspace and a platform built for Google Workspace users. 'Integration' means the tool exists elsewhere and connects back to Google Workspace through an API or a sidebar. 'Built for' means the design constraint — 'does this work natively inside the Google tool the seller is already using?' — is applied before the feature is built. The SalesVault Google Add-ons are the expression of that constraint. They do not require the seller to leave Slides, Docs, Forms, or Chat. They extend the capability of those tools from within them across multiple use cases.

Building for Google Workspace means building with world-class infrastructure

Building for Google Workspace is not only a product decision — it is a security, compliance, and infrastructure decision. When SalesVault decided to exclusively focus on Google Workspace as the ecosystem to build for, we directly leveraged Google's world-class security and compliance posture. For the SMB teams that SalesVault serves, this means enterprise-grade infrastructure without the enterprise complexity or the enterprise cost.

The Google infrastructure advantage
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP): SalesVault runs on GCP — the same infrastructure that powers Google Search, Gmail, and YouTube. ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, and FedRAMP certified data centres with physical security and redundancy.
  • Google Workspace SSO: SalesVault authenticates entirely through existing Google Workspace accounts using OAuth 2.0. No separate login, no additional password, no new credential surface for attackers to target. Zero credential sprawl.
  • AES-256 encryption at rest: All data on SalesVault is encrypted at rest using AES-256 — Google's standard — applied at the storage layer automatically, without configuration.
  • TLS 1.3 in transit: All data in transit between SalesVault and the user is encrypted using TLS 1.3, the current cryptographic standard for transport layer security, which ensures secure, high-speed communication.
  • Zero-trust security and Auto-deactivation: Access to SalesVault is governed by Google's identity verification, meaning every access attempt is verified regardless of network location. There is no 'inside the firewall' assumption. When an employee is removed from your Google Workspace directory, they immediately and automatically lose all access to SalesVault.
  • GDPR and data residency: SalesVault operates under Google's data processing agreements, which include GDPR Standard Contractual Clauses and data residency controls for EU-based teams. Customers in the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand benefit from the same framework.
  • Shared compliance posture: Since SalesVault is built on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), customers inherit a significant portion of Google's compliance certifications and security posture without needing to audit SalesVault's infrastructure independently — Google has already done that work.
  • 2FA via Google Account: Teams already using 2FA or hardware security keys on their Google Workspace accounts get the same protection on SalesVault automatically — no additional 2FA configuration required.

A standalone platform built outside this ecosystem would need to independently, build its own identity infrastructure, manage its own key management system, obtain and maintain each of these certifications, and negotiate data processing agreements with every customer it serves. The cost of that infrastructure — in engineering, in audit fees, in compliance resourcing — is not available to most SaaS companies at SalesVault's price point. Building for Google Workspace means that world-class security posture is already in place.

What this means for SMB companies
For SMB teams who have to go through an internal IT or procurement review, the Google infrastructure for a SaaS tool like SalesVault answers all these questions: 'What are your certifications? Where is our data stored? How is it encrypted? What happens if you are breached?' Building on GCP with Google Workspace SSO answers most of those questions before they are asked. The certifications exist. The encryption standards are documented. The SSO is already in the IT team's identity management system. For a 20-person sales team whose IT decision-maker is also their Head of Finance, this matters enormously.

The bottom line

The decision to build SalesVault for Google Workspace users — rather than building another standalone platform — is due to our unflinching belief that in sales & revenue enablement, adoption is the product. Features matter only if they're used. Content matters only if it's found. AI matters only if it's present in the moment of need. Building purposefully for the environment where work already happens produces adoption that is structural, not behavioural. And doing it on Google's infrastructure means the security and compliance posture comes with the territory. We made our bet. For the Google Workspace teams we serve, that bet pays off every time a deal or opportunity is closed.
